TEENAGER- AHHHHH!

As of November 3 2010, I officially own a teenager. It was a shock to me when it happened. I saw all of the signs- sass, rudeness, moodiness, out of control giggling, etc. But with Jess, I've seen them since she was like 3. So it caught me off guard. She is our drama queen.

One thing I wasn't expecting is how much easier our relationship would be. We talk more and have more fun together than we ever have. So far, I have really loved having a teenager. I know it's only been a few months and all of you who have had teenagers are saying in your heads, "JUST WAIT." I'm sure it will get harder, but for now I am really enjoying it. She is full of fire and determination - sometimes good, sometimes bad. I love hearing about all the boy drama and listening to her way of thinking. She is a beautiful dancer and wants to have good grades. When she brought home her honor roll certificate we were so excited about it. Jed and I have never seen one of those before :) I love that she wanted her party to be in Riverton High colors - even though she doesn't go to high school yet. She wants to. I love that she loves to laugh and thinks she is hilarious. I love that she tells me so much and listens when I try to give advice. I love that she is better at hair and makeup than I will ever be. I love that her cell phone is her life-line and I can get her to do anything when I threaten to take it away. Jess is a great kid.

Ya - so far, I love my teenager.

You and she obviously have a really great relationship. I can't see that changing anytime soon. She is pretty, smart, talented and fun to talk to. She was gifted and talented with hair and make up at 3! I treasure the memories of us both doing our hair & make-up when she was so little. Super cute! Teenage grandkids are great to have around!
