Lemonade Stand

I am so mad I don't have a functional camera today. Jessie, Carli and Tey decided to make a lemonade stand to make some extra cash. So they whipped up some Crystal Light and they had one can of diet Sprite for a lucky person. I was teaching piano, so didn't have any clue on how the sales were coming. When I did get out to take a look I see that they have written on pieces of paper: Come get a drink, or sample. Samples .... $.10 (they had the little tiny crystal light pack- it looks like a sacrament cup filled with crystal light) Diet Sprite .... $.50 or Crystal Light (with a picture of a light bulb) $1.50. For a cup of Crystal Light? hmmmm. These kids know what they are doing! I was a little embarrassed of there outrageous prices, so they lowered them a bit and sold drinks until they ran out of cups (I only had 4...). Mike Waters tried to order a cheesburger, but all he got was giggles. They made $1.75 altogether and were thrilled.

those small businesses are the best! I used to always buy popcycles from the Ramptons... they were those good kinds like from that rainbow place. mmmmmmmmm. I dont think I ever did a lemonade stand... I should have.

How could you not buy something from cute Teylor?

I did a lemonade stand for about five minuets when I was little. Buisness was so slow that I got bored and put the lemonade in my red wagon and took my buisness skills for a walk around the neighborhood.

That's cute! That's funny that they were charging that much. Smart kids!

My kids did a Koolaid stand awhile ago. Alex's job was to wear a sign advertising the Koolaid, and dance up and down 400 north to attract customers. It was pretty funny.

I always feel so guilty when I drive by a lemonade stand with anxious kids trying to sell. I would have really given Jess and Tey my business. You should keep a big supply of otter pops on hand - those would be easy to sell.

I can see Alex dancing all around - feeling kind of embarrassed. He is so cute.

Heidi and I used to sell "pet" rocks. We painted faces and hair on the rocks and wrote a story about their lives. Alexia was one of our favorite customers and I think she still has them.

That was awesome Christine! We were so cute.

I wish I could've seen Alex dancing with his sign! That is hilarious.

I'm sad you didn't get pictures too, Jaime. That's way cute.

Now I feel guilty passing by all those lemonade stands in my neighborhood pretending i don't see them. I guess I just imagine grubby pee, dirt and germ covered hands all mixing everything up and dropping the cups in the road and picking them up and drinking out of a cup and forgetting and giving it to me. Holy crap I have OCD germ disorder. How do I live in my own pigstye? I will get over it and buy from the cuties!
