This is way nerdy, but I've always wanted to be a dancer and because I never took dance classes, I've never felt like I could be. Those of you who are dance reluctant, do you remember high school and stake dances and how painful they were??? I would dread being asked to dance a "fast" dance because I felt like such a moron. Now that I'm older and just don't care as much, I just wanna dance. Especially after I watched the Academy Award winning movie "Stomp the Yard" and have secretly been going to the wicked "Body and Soul" classes at the gym (I can't stop) I have decided to stop fighting it. Who cares what I look like, right? Well, I have decided to just dance downstairs with the music blaring when no one else is home. Weird? Maybe, but it's fun and keeps me humble. hee hee. If you have the inclination, Wind it Up is the perfect song to get you moving. WIND IT UP!

I can can imagine you in your basement "when the poppin' begins." HA! (I'm imagining our Tears for Fears "Shout" move...)
My favorite lyric of that song: They like the way my pants, it compliments my shape.
Don't ask why because I don't know.
It is funny to imagine you rock'in out. I have to say that maybe once in a while I do it too.
Jaime - that song is totally spazola - I honestly got a kick out of it ... didn't jam to it though. Sorry. :)! I miss all the crazy things we used to do growing up - that was a nice release of creative energy. Do you remember J&M radio and the fat ladies, skinny lady skit? Oh man, we ARE nerdy. Hee hee. Anyway - now I know how you stay so skinny, you dancing Queen you!
Love, Michelle
Gwen Stefani rocks. Gary's obsessed with her lately. Poor Mia, we need to get an edited version of Hollaback girl before she starts saying the sh word - she hasn't quite figured it out yet - she says, this seat is bananas...
Anyway, I love that you dance alone in your basement. I've always had a dream of being in a rock band and totally imagine it all the time while I'm driving in the car rocking out. Someday.
I totally feel the same way about dancing - except that I would totally rock out at the teen dances. Aerobics was always my dance outlet. I need to find out more about "Wind it up" - is that from the movie? You guys need to demonstrate the Shout move - and share it with all the kids next On Sunday - We'll crank Wind it Up.
Mandi and I were the bomb dancin and roller skating. Together we'll brake the chains of love... Do you remember those moves?
Michelle - I totally forgot about J&M radio. The skits were the BEST! Now I understand why the parents were not so thrilled about coming downstairs to watch and they never thought they were that funny. haha. Do you remember Ghost busters? Good memories!

Jaime, I think you must have gotten the self-conscious dancer gene from me. Only I hated to dance. I never really got much joy out of doing the rock and roll dancing. I always felt dumb doing it. I'm glad that you are able to find joy in your basement dances.
I finally listened to the song - it is great - it sounds like a mash up, is it?
You'll never believe this, but I actually looked forward to the fast songs at all the dances I went to. I had a number of patented dances, including:
Weener Dance
No-Control-Of-My-Arms Dance
The Tigerama
Rrrrrrrockit
I would practice with the Breakin' and Breakin' II: Elecric Boogaloo videos.
The girls I was with didnt enjoy it quite as much.
