I love the fourth of July. It is my favorite holiday. We had so much fun on the 4th growing up. Lagoon and Dirks feild where dad would play the trumpet in the army band. I LOVED that. They would play all those patriotic songs and then we would watch the fireworks and eat licorice. I'm trying to get my kids (and husband) to love it as I do. Every year so far, all the kids are hiding under the blankets because they are afraid of the fireworks and Jed is asleep. But I still watch and enjoy.
Everone thinks I'm crazy, but I love the parades! I love the flag, bands, royalty, little old veterans, motorcyles, clowns, really everything about it. I guess finding a spot and the heat aren't great, but the rest of it is awesome. Frozen chocolate covered bananas- oh baby. And this year we can cheer for Hillary - the QUEEN. cool.
Yesterday, I got this shirt for Kobe for the 4th and he said -"hey, just like Grandpa Randy." My Dad is definetly a 4th of July guy and I think I got my love of the day from him. We need to go to another Army Band concert!

That's funny. Jessie said something like that to me before but I can't remember it really well. I love the forth of July too! It means 3 more days until my birthday!
I saw a hot air balloon this morning - and excitement automatically floods over me! Same with this song. I've kind of let the 4th slide a little, because everything gets to be such a hassle ... dealing with crowds and traffic and heat. I need to re-commit! Thanks for this patriotic post! Cobe is so cute - what a handsome little man.
I'm glad somebody picked up my patriotic gene. I guess we are going to be golfing again this year during the parade. Sorry about that. Next year we will do the whole deal. We missed the Army Band concert at the tabernacle tonight. It would have been like old times. Oh well, Ratattoui was good. I did buy an American flag wind sock today so we'll be in the patriotic mode tommorow. Thanks for such a good daughter and loving those things too. Some of it will rub off on your kids. Teylor will probably become the patriotic one.
The army band will be in the Cottonwood Heights parade on the 24th of July. I love the patriotic army band concerts. We need to stake out one of their concerts for sure! I loved the 4th at Dirk's field. That really was fun.
What a cute little man! Stylin', just like his Gramps. The parade is a lot of fun, but this year it's supposed to be 101 which may be just too hot. Anywhere just a little cooler may be better.
Yeah, that's too hot for the parade. Knowing that makes me feel less guilty about not going. That one year in the shade was so awesome.
I don't know what happened but I realized that I have not looked at your blog in forever!! Now I have tons of catch up to do! I used to LOVE the 4th of July when I was younger. I think I will blog about my memories, thanks for giving me a topic. I can't ever think of blog topics anymore.
