The Riverton parade was great. Kobe was very cute standing with his hand on his heart as the flag went by. I don't know what Jessie is doing (in the orange) picking a melvin?
The parade was 3 hours long!! We didn't make it to the carnival until about 9:30 p.m., so it was short and sweet.

The Sandy fireworks were good, but not great. I think next year we will just stick to Riverton. The highlight of the night for me was this: They had a live band playing really lively music. All of a sudden the music got a hold of Kobe and he couldn't help but just stand up and dance (he must have gotten that from his mom...) It was really exuberant dancing. I REALLY wished I had a video camera! He had a completely serious look on his face and just went wild. Jed had a hard time watching his son try to dance like a cheerleader, but did really good to just let him go for it. He even had to close his eyes and pretend like he was a sleep for a while, until Kobe's dancing got so crazy that he was drawing a lot of attention to himself and Jed finally yelled, "Kobe, SIT DOWN!" Kobe looked sad and said, "But those girls are smiling at me." I don't know what he was thinking, but it was hilarious.

Thanks for a great day everyone!

Oh cute! Yeah, I bet those girls were smiling at Kobe. At least he's not shy.
I love it when Kobe gets down. So funny. It was a great 4th. I'm so glad most everyone could come for the noon bar-b-q. It was really fun in the cool shady pavilion with the Millers. Provo River was great too (except for Alex and Paul). We need to do it again so Alex and grandma can have a fun ride. Getting to bed at 9:30 was definately better than fireworks!
What fun pics! I TOTALLY want to see Kobe get down. He's got the dance gene in him for SURE! I want to see Jessie and Teylor dance too. I keep hearing how amazing they are.
How did Jessie get that blue streak in her hair? Miss would love me to do that to her hair. I need instructions, though.
I'm sad we missed the bbq. I'm excited to be all together next year the whole day!
It's good to see that you're teaching him patriotism at a young age. I'm glad that he isn't self-conscious and just lets it all out.
Michelle - Those blue streaks are hair extensions my cousin Natalie brought for the girls last time she did our hair. I don't know how long they will last... They've had them for 2 weeks and one of Teylor's have fallen out. They're pretty fun!
He can get away with a little dancing. He's a handsome boy. All the girls will love him. They'll probably appreciate his sweet moves.
That is hilarious. I wish I could have seen that. I love that Jed gritted his teeth and tried to get through it for awhile. ha!
I'm so happy you're back! I've missed your comments in the blog world!
Wow, Jaime - that's some pretty fast reading! I just finished the book tonight as well. SOOOOO good. That series is remarkable.
