April Fools!

I love April Fools Day! I have great memories of make-up mustaches, cardboard gum, sour cream filled oreos, etc... Today, I wanted to do some joke on my kids, so I went to familyfun.com and got the "cupcake" recipe. It's meatloaf in cupcake liners, with pink mashed potatoes on the top. It totally looks like a real cupcake. The kids were playing as I made dinner, so they never caught on. Jessie came in when the cute pink cupcakes were on plates, ready to eat, and said "we're having cupcakes for dinner? Mom- you make me laugh." Like this was an ordinary occurance.

They all started digging in. Jessie took a lick of the frosting and said "what kind of frosting is that!" and ran to the sink to spit it out. Teylor was totally grossed out, too. But Kobe - he's no fool - he calmly said, "it's potatoes." No big. None of them would eat the pink potatoes, but they all loved the meat loaf, which surprised me because I've never made it before.

Any fun jokes out there? I'd love to hear about it.

HEY!! I made those exact cupcakes last night too! haha Aren't we cuh-ute! My kids liked the meat, too, and I never make meatloaf. That was surprising. I also made the pudding/candy potpies. Did you see those? They turned out really cute - I was impressed with myself. Maybe I'll blog about it too.

By the way, I love their reactions. Jessie's face is so funny.

That is too funny and even more funny that two sisters did the same thing. You must be more alike than you think. The reactions are hillarious. How fun!

I especially love Teylor's "Mom, you make me laugh" and Kobe's calmness. That is classic. How fun.
